Obituary
Willanette Jamison was born on April 2, 1957 in Fort Morgan, Colorado to William "Buck" Weber and Hazel (Amen) Weber. She passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at the age of 53.
Her family moved from Fort Morgan to WaKeeney at the age of two, where she resided her entire life.
On June 30th, 1973, Willanette was united in marriage to Ross Jamison. They resided in WaKeeney where Willanette devoted her life to raising and caring for her family.
In 1996, she met her significant other, David DePriest. They lived in WaKeeney for fourteen years and spent many great years together raising Trevor.
Her interests included family and friends, cooking, gardening, Nascar, and writing letters. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members. Her family wrote: Willanette was very loving, with a gentle soul. She loved to give gifts, which included cards and letters that always delivered the perfect message at the right time.
Survivors include David & Trevor DePriest of WaKeeney; her parents, Buck and Hazel Weber of WaKeeney; three sons, Dustin and wife, Rene, of Mission, KS, Jarod and wife, Kami, Preston and wife, Valerie, all of Kansas City, KS; three sisters, Deborah Schoenberger and Chuck Kuntz of Quinter; Diane Wagner and husband, Ross, Paula McCurdy and husband, Mike, all of WaKeeney, one brother, William Weber and wife, Denise of Wellington, KS; three grandchildren, Juliana and Vincent Jamison and Ella Jamison, and one on the way.
Willanette's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. She gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. Her gentle smile and tight hugs brought so much joy to her family and friends. She will be missed greatly by her family and everyone who knew her.
A Memorial Service for Willanette will be held Monday, August 16, 2010 at 10:30 AM in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church at WaKeeney, KS.
Inurnment wil be at a later date. There is no visitation planned.
Memorials are suggested to the Willanette Jamison Children's Education Fund and can be sent in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, 336 N 12th, WaKeeney, KS 67672.
