Obituary

Willadeen Marie Glick was born on April 8, 1917, in Quinter, KS, to William and Elizabeth (Dortland) Sharp. She passed away at Gove County Medical Center, Quinter, KS, on March 24, 2011, at the age of 93.

Willadeen attended rural Sunshine school and graduated from Quinter High School in 1937. She was a lifetime resident of Gove County and a long-time member of the Eastern Star, the FOE #3774 and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

On April 8, 1938, Willadeen was united in marriage with Delmar Glick. He passed away January 13, 1982.

Willadeen loved her family and everyone she met. She loved people and knew no stranger. All that knew her thought she was an amazing person and enjoyed her company. To the people around her, she was referred to as "Willy", she rarely was called Willadeen. Some called her "Wild Willy" which she accepted with a smile. She spoke many of times about all the fun they had dancing and playing cards with friends. She was proud to tell that she was born, raised four children and four grandsons all on her family's farm. She was one of the first 4-H leaders in Gove County and worked with many young 4-Her's. She drove a team of mules with Wagon's Ho and helped cook the meals around the campfire. She baked many pies for the Quinter Sale Barn. After moving to town, she went to the Senior Citizens Center daily to help out in any way she could and enjoyed the company it provided.

Survivors include three children, Ramona McCoy and husband, Lew, of Cheyenne, WY, Aurilla Zerr and husband, Albert, of Quinter, Lyle Glick and wife, Janice, of Quinter; son-in-law, Johnny Deines of WaKeeney; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
