Obituary

Juluis Wilbert Goetz was born January 6, 1927, in rural Sheridan County, KS, to the late Ray and Clementina (Depperschmidt) Goetz. He passed away Saturday, January 1, 2011, at his home in rural Park at the age of 83.

Wilbert was raised on the family farm north of Park with his sisters, Vivian, Eulalia and Donna. He attended a nearby country school for his early education and then went to both Park High School and Sheridan County High Schools.

On October 12, 1948 he was united in marriage to Irene Lipp in Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Park. To this union, they were blessed with three children, Keith, Donald and Cindy. Sadly, Irene passed away December 23, 1955, and he later married Eva Cahoj and had a daughter, Caroline.

He worked on the railroad for several years after Irene passed away and then he came home and started a dairy with his children on the family farm. Wilbert enjoyed working his land and his cows. He was devoted to his children, and he treasured the times spent with his grandchildren. His face glowed when they came into his house and would talk to him, play a card game, eat ice cream, or ride in the tractor with him.

Those left to mourn his passing are his children, Don and wife, Janice, Grinnell, Keith, Park, Cindy Anderson and husband, Mark, Rexford, and Caroline Davies, Wichita; five grandchildren, Andrew Goetz and wife, LeeAnn, Park, Lyndsay Perez and husband, Luis, Larned, Jessica Partridge, Garden City, Kelly Larson and husband, Chris, and Jacob Anderson all of San Tan Valley, AZ; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Eulalia Ochs and husband, Leo, Quinter, Donna Zerr and husband, Alfred, Irving, TX; and many nephews, nieces, family and friends.

His wife, Irene; an infant brother; and a sister, Vivian Ochs, preceded him in death.

Visitation is 5-7 PM Wednesday, January 5, 2011 in Schmitt Funeral Home at Quinter with Vigil service at 7 PM.

Services will be 10:30 AM Thursday, January 6, 2011 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Park, KS with interment in the church cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to masses, Gove County Medical Center, or Sacred Heart Cemetery Fund and can be sent in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, 901 S Main, Quinter, KS 67752.
