WaKeeney resident, Tim Smith, age 58, died near Scott City, on April 24, 2013 as the result of a motor vehicle accident. He was doing what he loved to do, and that is trucking. His dog and driving companion, Smokie, also passed away in the accident. Tim started truck driving in 1972.
Tim was born November 5, 1954, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, the son of Fred and Rita (Clegg ) Smith. He attended high school in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was a man of few words, often preferring to let his work speak for him.
Tim will be dearly missed by many. Survivors include his wife Mickie Rose; a daughter Amber Smith Long of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 2 brothers Mike Kesterson of West Virginia and Fred "Bub" Smith, Jr. of Utah; a sister Sherrie Fagan of Strasburg, Colorado; 5 grandchildren Shayla Lynn, Amberlynn, Michael, Troy, and Vivian; father-in-law Lloyd Dossett of Brighton, Colorado; 2 stepsons Kalen Joseph "K.J." Pollard of Brighton, Colorado and Luke Pollard of Boulder, Colorado; a stepdaughter Taylor Eileen Dossett of Brighton, Colorado; and 3 step grandchildren Peyton, Leighton, and Robyn Lynn. He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law Patricia Dossett.
Family hosted services will be at a later date. His body was cremated.
