Obituary

Theresa Marie Von Lintel was born September 7, 1926, on a farm north of Emmeram, KS in Ellis County, to the late Nicolas and Philomena 'Minnie' (Dreiling) Rohleder. She passed away Saturday, December 5, 2009, in the Hays Medical Center at the age of 83. She had been a resident of the Hays Good Samaritan Center since October of 2006.


As a child, she attended Lost Canyon Country School near Emmeram.


On December 7, 1948, Theresa was united in marriage to Lawrence Von Lintel in the Sacred Heart Church in Emmeram, KS. She and Lawrence farmed for many years in the Quinter area. Lawrence passed away May 10, 1999.


Theresa was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and the Altar Society, all in Park.


Survivors include three sons, Nick and wife, Mary, of Russell, Larry and wife, Debi, of Hoxie, Bruce and wife, Elizabeth, of Hays; two daughters, Annette Reitmayer and husband, Jerry, of Derby, Kathy Blackwill and husband, Jim, of Quinter; seventeen grandchildren, Brian, Jason, and Patrick Reitmayer, Tana Sells, Trina Yauch, Mandi Muller, Candi Owens, L. J. Von Lintel, Beth Adelgren, Bobby and Kari Rarick, Lindy McDaniel, Stacy Cassio, Julie McDonald, Todd Blackwill, Michaela and Jim Von Lintel; fourteen great-grandchildren, Zane, Max, and Leo Reitmayer, Maddy Reitmayer, Ian and Jenna Reitmayer, Chelsea and Nick Sells, Brandon and Cadin Yauch, Jordin and Addison Owens, Joseph Von Lintel, Emmitt McDaniel; a brother, Valerius Rohleder of Abilene; and three sisters, Rita Wolf, Josita Pfannenstiel, and Mary Jane Polifka, all of Hays.


Preceding her in death was her husband, Lawrence; a brother, Ronald Rohleder; and a sister, Petronella Graf.


Services for Theresa will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday December 9, 2009, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Park, KS with Fathers James Thomas and August Moeder officiating. Interment is in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.


Visitation is 5-7 PM Tuesday at Schmitt Funeral Home in Quinter with a Vigil held at 7:00 P.M.
