Theresa (Zimmerman) Haffner, age 90, of Quinter, died Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Gove County Medical Center, Long Term Care in Quinter. Theresa was born February 22, 1922, in rural Park, Kansas, the daughter of Theodore and Rosalie (Heier) Zimmerman.
Theresa was united in marriage to Steve Haffner on June 4, 1946 in Park, Kansas. They enjoyed 50 years of marriage together until Steve's death on April 22, 1997. Along with being a proud homemaker, Theresa enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, and playing cards. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Park and the Altar Society.
Theresa will be dearly missed by two brothers Fabian Zimmerman of Quinter, and Ed Zimmerman of Hastings, Nebraska; seven sisters Kathryn Younger of Sebastopol, California, Johanna Dreher of Commerce City, Colorado, Sally Burgardt of Sebastopol, California, Alberta Knoll of Lakeport, California, Albina Moore of Santa Rosa, California, Loretta Waldman of Grinnell, Kansas, and Rowena Thomas of Petaluma, California; seven sisters-in-law Martina Zimmerman of Quinter, Kansas, Diane Zimmerman of Santa Rosa, California, Liz Miller of Hays, Kansas, Joyce Haffner of Newton, Kansas, Opal Zimmerman of Quinter, Kansas, Annie Albers of Hoxie, Kansas and Delores Zimmerman of Hastings, Nebraska; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers Joseph Zimmerman and Dale Zimmerman; and two sisters Mary Racette and Emma Zimmerman.
A mass of Christian burial will be at 2:30 p.m., Monday, January 7, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Park, Kansas. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
