Theodore A. (Ted) Patterson, 85, of Quinter, KS, passed away at Hays Medical Center on October 30, 2024. Ted was born to James Theodore Patterson and Lola Lois (Keeten) in Phillips County, KS on March 3, 1939. He graduated from Agra High School, moving to Quinter in 1959.
Ted was united in marriage to Sharon Kay Berry on March 10, 1960 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Together, they raised their four sons in Quinter. They were married 64 years. He worked as an Equipment Operator for Ed Yanda Construction for 28 years, before purchasing the business in 1987. He continued in the soil conservation contracting business as Patterson Construction for another 30 plus years. (Moving millions of cubic yards of dirt in the surrounding counties). He enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ted is survived by four sons, Kevin (Deb) Patterson of Scottsbluff, NE, granddaughter, Kayla (Jon) Rehnberg of Holdridge, NE, great-grandchildren Addison and Kennedy and grandson, Miles (Amanda) Patterson, Torrington, WY, great grandchildren, Kaidyn, Kaleb, and Max; Keith (Susan) Patterson of Sterling, KS, grandson, Brett (Estephania) Patterson and great-grandson Santiago; Bryant (Katie) Patterson, great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Isabelle and grandson, Theodore "Butch" (Rachelle) Patterson, Jr. of Hoyt, KS, granddaughter, Whitney (Nathan) Decker, great-grandchildren, Cevin, Tevin, Teyla, Jaxon, and Chase; granddaughter, Christina (Matt) Henry, great grandchildren, Hudson and Kason, and grandson, Kyle (Emma) Patterson; Randy (Nike) Patterson of Quinter, KS granddaughter, Allyson (Zach) Blurton, great-grandchildren, Zannah and Acelyn; and his extended family from Durango, Mexico, the Dominguez family: Raphel, Chuy, Gabby, Juan Carlos, Alfredo, Brenda, and Juan, whom he considered family. He is also survived by sister Patricia McAtee (Mac) of Greenville, MO and brother Joe Patterson of Salina, KS, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sharon, and brother Don, along with sisters-in-law Yvetta Patterson and Ruth Patterson.
Inurnment in the Baker Township Cemetery will take place at a later date.
