Shirley Ann Preister was born July 17, 1938 to the late Glenn and Mary (Lichtsinn) Manners in Norton, KS. She passed away Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital in WaKeeney at the age of 73.
Shirley attended school in Norton, KS and graduated from Norton High School with the class of 1956. She was married to Leon Preister on July 5, 1965. Leon passed away May 6, 1994.
Shirley owned and operated the Colonial Steak House in Phillipsburg for many years. She later worked for the Fashion Crossroads Dress Shop before moving to WaKeeney and working for Sprint Mart. Shirley enjoyed traveling with Leon. Misty her dog was always by her side.
Survivors include her son, Shawn Preister of Phillipsburg; cousins, Mary Ann Schneider and Charlotte Wanker and husband Pat of WaKeeney.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Leon and her parents.
Gravesides Services were Monday, November 14, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Norton City Cemetery with Pastor Randy Gibbs officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
