Obituary

Ruth Ann Kaiser was born August 23, 1920, on the family farm 10 miles north of Quinter in Sheridan County. She was the sixth child born to Philip James II and Ruth Matilda (McClure) Kaiser. Ruth Ann passed away Friday, November 27, 2009 at the age of 89.


As a young girl, Ruth attended schools near Park and graduated from Park High School.


On August 12, 1940, Ruth married Francis Roy Kaiser. After Frank retired from the Post Office, they enjoyed traveling to Harlington, TX where they spent the winter months. Frank passed away September 3, 1994.


Ruth Ann was a member of the St. Michael Catholic Church, and Altar Society both of Collyer, Daughters of Isabella of Park and the Helping Hands Club in Quinter.


Any relative, friend, or neighbor and yes, even strangers would never leave Ruth Ann's house hungry. She always insisted on cooking big dinners for the family. Ruth Ann was noted for her pecan and banana creme pies.


Survivors include four children; Ronald Kaiser and wife, Bernadine, of Quinter, Judy Riggs and husband, Elvin, of Berthoud, CO, Roger Kaiser and wife, Donna, of Dodge City, Rex Kaiser and wife Ronda, of Quinter; eight grandchildren, Laura Ward and husband, Dave, of Bishop, GA, Allen Riggs and wife, Sonia, of Denver, CO, Brian Kaiser of Steamboat Springs, CO, Rona Gazaway and husband, James, of Hutchinson, Kurt Kaiser and wife, Sarah, of Mount Laurel, NJ, Reneé Kappus and husband, Mike, of Broomfield, CO, Jennifer Burgardt and husband, Doug, of Salina, Tina Sarber and husband, Ken, of Eudora; two step-grandchildren, Darin Hart and wife, Teresa, of Wichita, Jason Hart of Topeka; ten great-grandchildren, Garrett and Kayla Ward, Aiden Riggs, Jack and Mark Kappus, Jack, Nicholas, and Benjamin Gazaway, Jacob and Kaleb Burgardt; and three step-great-grandchildren, Alex, Ginger and Melissa Hart; and a brother, Thomas J. Martin of Goodland.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; and six brothers, Philip the III, Lawrence 'Pat', John, Rodney, Francis, and Marcus Martin.


Services for Ruth Ann will be held Monday, November 30, 2009 at 2:30 PM IN Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Park, KS. Interment is in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
