Obituary

Rosalie A. Jamison was born June 27, 1930, in Smith Center, KS to Leonard Laurane and Cora Marvel (Winslow) Glenn. She passed away Saturday, March 5, 2011, in the Gove County Medical Center at Quinter, KS at the age of 80.


Rosalie married Houston Jamison, June 23, 1947 in WaKeeney, KS. She so enjoyed helping Houston on the farm. They had sixty glorious years of marriage before his death on July 10, 2009.


Rosalie had a passion for her garden. She loved roses and had many houseplants including her sweet potato vines. She sewed for many years, making teddy bears and baby dresses, which have been passed down to family over the years.


Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Lori Dinkel and husband Bob, Kathleen McManus, all of Collyer; one son Joel, Jr and wife Sheryl of Clay Center; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Houston; two brothers, Charles and Lenny Glenn; two sisters, Barbara Bently and Donna Marquez; and one grandson, Easton Jamison.


Services for Rosalie are Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Schmitt Funeral Home, 901 S. Main, Quinter, KS with Stan Smith officiating. Inurnment will be in the Union Cemetery, Collyer, KS. There will be no visitation.


Memorials are suggested to the Gove County Medical Center Long Term Care and may sent in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, 901 S. Main, Quinter, KS 67752.
