IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronda Sue
Wertz
April 6, 1943 – January 2, 2025
Ronda Sue (Hostetler) Wertz was born April 6, 1943, and followed her Savior, Jesus, home January 2, 2025.
Born to Vern and Dortha Hostetler in Wauseon, Ohio, she was the second of twins, which was a certain claim to fame for her. Her childhood stories were the joys of growing up with many cousins who lived close by, and tales of the most amazing aunts and uncles ever.
She finished high school and went on to earn an associate degree, working as a medical technician in a lab in Ann Arbor, MI. While at Torreon Navajo Mission she was swept off her feet by Leonard Wertz, and they were married in her parents' backyard on September 23, 1967. They traveled extensively across the USA and enjoyed multiple trips to Israel, Europe, and the UK. Together they raised two boys, Brad and Todd, who went on to marry and bring nine grandchildren into her life. She was a proud "Grammy", known for praying for her grandchildren along with conversing about their adventures while watching them grow up to be productive young men and women. She also enjoyed four great-grandchildren, three of whom would often cross the street to watch wildlife movies and discuss her and Gramp's capers and memorabilia.
She was a steady helpmate, lifelong learner, wonderful cook, and was often found at her sewing machine. In 1975, she and Len started Youth retreat, a summer discipleship camp in the Rockies designed to teach young people the joy of knowing Jesus through Biblical instruction and fellowship. She is remembered by many as being in the kitchen at Camp CO or White Pine planning and cooking delicious meals for crowds of hungry youth. As a minister's wife for 49 years, she found simple ways to serve her church community, one being two years spent at the Torreon Navajo Mission developing many lifelong friendships.
On this side of eternity, she has left sons, Brad (Kirsten) and Todd (Ricki).
Grandsons Matthias (Cassie), Blaine (MacKenzie), Corey, Keegan (Kenslie), Aiden, and granddaughters Kimberly, Liberty, Autumn, and Jillian (Trey Edgecomb). Great grandchildren Liam, Lauren, Kayla, and Clara Wertz. Also, her two siblings: Don
Hostetler (Lou) and Sandra Armstrong. She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard, parents, Lawrence Clayton (brother-in-law), Bill Armstrong
(brother-in-law), Edna Wertz (sister-in-law) and granddaughter Elizabeth Wertz.
