Robert Daniel Beaver was born October 9, 1930, on a farm south of Quinter, KS. He was the youngest son of D.W. and Hulda (Selberg) Beaver. He passed away Monday, April 30, 2012, at Bella Vista, AR.
He attended elementary school at Fairview District #5 in Gove County and graduated from Quinter High School in 1949. He was a member of the Banner Methodist Church, south of Collyer, KS.
He was inducted into the army on January 21, 1952, at Kansas City. He served in Germany as a radio operator and was discharged August 12, 1954.
On June 27, 1953, Bob married Ida Marie Morley in Warrensburg, MO. After Bob's discharge from the service, he worked for AM-Tex Television and Radio Service in Amarillo, TX. He later was employed by the P E I Corporation-2-Way Radio Sales and Service and was transferred to Ulysses, KS in 1965. Bob and Ida then moved to Tribune where he worked for Sunflower Telephone Co., Inc. After retirement, Bob and Ida bought property in Gravette, AR where his love of family and farming continued from his Quinter family farming background.
Bob was also a very active lifetime member of the Tribune VFW post and served as commander and in other officer positions for several years.
Survivors include two grandchildren, Paul and Robert 'Robbie' Beaver; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida; two sons, Donald, and Daneal; two infant children, Robert and Barbara; two brothers; Eugene and Harley Beaver; and five sisters, Pearl and Clara Beaver, both deceased as children, Ethel Harvey, Bernadine Osburne, and Velma Patrick.
A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Union Cemetery at Collyer, Kansas with Stan Smith officiating.
