Rita LaVerne Harger, formerly of WaKeeney, KS passed away June 22, 2012 at her home in Garfield, AR.
She was born January 8, 1938, in Chicago, IL. to the late Lyle and Margaret (Haynes) Van Kirk.
On December 20, 1956, she was united in marriage to Robert Harger in Chicago, IL.
Survivors include her husband, Bob, of the home in Garfield, AR; two sons, Garry and wife, Susie, of Bella Vista, AR, James and wife, June, of Rogers, AR; two daughters, Julie Skach and husband, David, of Bentonville, AR, Nancy Bailey and husband, Paul, of Checotah, OK; one grandchild, Jordan Havens; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Seth, and Rune Havens; and a sister, Virginia Hampton, of Florida.
Visitation for LaVerne will be 5-7 P.M. Sunday, June 24, 2012 in Schmitt Funeral Home at WaKeeney, KS.
Funeral Services will be 9:00 A.M. Monday, June 25, 2012 also in Schmitt Funeral Home with PMA Marla Deines officiating. Interment is in the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery, WaKeeney.
Memorials are suggested to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and can be sent in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, 336 N 12th, WaKeeney, KS 67672.
