Regina B. (Kisslinger) Schuster, age 94, departed this life on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
Regina was the sixth born in a family of 11 siblings to Herman and Catherine (Flax) Kisslinger. She was born on the family farm northeast of Ransom, Kansas, on Thursday, November 13, 1930.
Regina attended Cyrus Country School through the eighth grade. As a young woman, she worked for neighbors cleaning houses until her marriage to Kenneth Littlechild in 1950. In 1986, she married Joseph Schuster.
Throughout her life, Regina was a dedicated worker. She spent 34 years employed at Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital as a Certified Nurse Assistant and later worked at Best Western Motel until her retirement in 2018. When she was not working, Regina could often be found in her garden or tending to the flowers she loved so much.
Regina was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister. She is survived by her children, Mary (Dan) Timm, Colorado Springs, CO; Ernest Wayne (Karen) Littlechild, WaKeeney, KS; and Eric (Amanda) Littlechild, WaKeeney, KS; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind two sisters, Rosetta Healy, Hays, KS, and Bernice Blakely, Houston, TX; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Kisslinger, WaKeeney, KS, and Mary Kisslinger, Russell, KS; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Schuster; brothers, Joe, Ambrose, John, and Paul Kisslinger; sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) Casey, Frances Casey, Anna Pfannenstiel, and Rose Smith; stepdaughter; two sisters-in-law; seven brothers-in-law; five nieces and one nephew.
A rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial Mass on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, WaKeeney, KS, with inurnment to follow at Christ the King Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church, Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital, and Masses, sent to Schmitt Funeral Home, 336 N. 12th St., WaKeeney, KS 67672.
