Rebecca Devin (Jackson) Crosby was born April 7, 1944, in Colorado Springs, CO, and raised by her adoptive parents, Alphonse, J. and Doris (Stroud) Freymuth. She passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2011, in the Trego County Memorial Hospital at WaKeeney at the age of 66.


She attended schools including two years of college in Colorado Springs, CO.

Rebecca was an LPN and worked as the Director of Nursing in the Good Samaritan Center at Atwood, and later, was Director of Nursing for the Trego Manor in WaKeeney. She made a positive impact on the nursing programs and community as a whole.


She was a very active member of Christ the King Catholic Church in WaKeeney. In her spare time, Rebecca loved to do crafts such as flower arranging, cake decorating, and also made hairpieces. She adored and always had a special place in her heart for cats.

Survivors include a son, Douglas Dunham and fiancé, Patti Riggins, of Arvada, CO; two daughters, Trinity McCoy of Oberlin, and Dianne Dunham of Hays; and six grandchildren, Silver Mohlen, Devin Laipelle, Douglas Sprous, Joseph Dunham, Jasmine Pearson, Michael Allen Sylvester; and ten great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Debra Gillette preceded her in death.

Memorial services for Rebecca will be 2:00 PM Friday, January 14, 2011 in Schmitt Funeral Home at WaKeeney. There is no visitation.
