Obituary

Ray Schreiner, age 88, of WaKeeney, KS, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020, at Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital Long Term Care. He was born January 13, 1932 to John and Beata (Knoll) Schreiner in St. Peter, KS.

As a farmer and rancher, Ray loved his Charolais cattle. He enjoyed fishing and visiting with his friends and family. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a lifelong Catholic. Ray was a beloved uncle to his many nieces and nephews and will be dearly missed.

Ray is survived by his brother Walter (Genevieve) Schreiner of Topeka, KS; nephews Richard A. Schreiner, John Webb, John Schreiner, Alvin Schreiner, Walt M. Schreiner, and Don Schreiner; nieces Deanne Level, Terri Budzyna, Nanette Woodall, Patricia Albin, Cindy Werth, and Carol Luetters.

Ray was preceded in death by both parents; brothers Richard Schreiner and Michael Schreiner; sister Mary Webb; nephews Bernard Schreiner, Robert Webb, Ron Schreiner, and Daniel Schreiner; nieces Irene Jackson, Viola Zimmerman, and Theresa Schwartz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Friday, September 18, 2020 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Collyer with Father Charlie Steier as celebrant. There will be a rosary 30 minutes prior to mass. Burial will take place immediately following at St. Anthony Cemetery in St. Peter.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Masses and Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital Long Term Care. Donations may be sent to Schmitt Funeral Home, 336 N 12th St, WaKeeney, KS, 67672.
