Obituary

Portia Hall passed away August 13, 2010 in Hesston, Kansas. She was born, Emma Louise Portia Redpath, on January 9, 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri to Cargill and Helen (Pursley) Redpath. She grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and married Raymond Chester Hall on January 28, 1949 in Danforth Chapel at KU. Together, they had five children and after making their home in Quinter for 46 years, they moved to Hesston in 1998.

Portia took great joy in being a homemaker, mother, and grandmother. She thoroughly enjoyed helping as many people as she could. She also found time to work at and help take care of their pharmacy in Quinter. Portia loved the Lord with all her heart and one of her passions was telling others about God's love for them. Teaching junior high Sunday school was something she excelled at and her students always enjoyed her class.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond; two sons, Mark Hall of Newton, Ray and wife Christie Hall of Valley View, Texas; two daughters, Isabel and husband Paul Flora of Olathe, Maggie VanDolah of Gainesville, Texas; three grandsons, Ryan and wife Katie Hall, William VanDolah, Ben VanDolah; seven granddaughters, Michelle Hall, Abby and husband Chris Reddish, Sarah and husband Andrew Gee, Kate Foster, Amanda and husband Damon Menne, Christabelle Hall, Molly VanDolah; two great grandchildren, Connor Reddish and Kali Flora. Preceding her in death was her son, Allen Andrew Hall and two daughters-in-law, Colleen Hall and Joyce Hall.

We will miss her immensely but are rejoicing knowing she is with her Savior that she loved so much.

Services for Portia will be Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the Quinter First United Methodist Church with visiting hours 9 A.M. until time of service on Wednesday. Interment is in Baker Township Cemetery, Quinter, KS.
