Obituary

Philip Anton Johnson, age 56, died on July 15, 2023, at Westview Manor, Derby, Kansas.  He was born on July 24, 1966, the son of Orville and Evelyn (Vinduska) Brown.  He was later adopted by Boyd Johnson.

On July 20, 1991, he married Arlene Garber in Waverly, Kansas.  Together, they raised their two children.  Philip was baptized on January 27, 1991.  He owned and operated 4J Set-up Service and enjoyed fishing whenever he could.

Philip is survived by his son, Justin (Jessa) Johnson, Collyer, Kansas; daughter, Marisa (Ryan) Dyson, Wabash, Indiana; two brothers, Aaron Baldwin and Jimbo (Shanna) Cann; two sisters, J.J. Moore and Shayrela Cann; three grandchildren, Nelle, Eden, and Samuel; two brothers-in-law, Mark (Cheryl) Garber and Raymond Graybill; three sisters-in-law, Esther (Lynn) Cardin, Sarah (Jonathan) Kessler, and Rachel (Josh) Wray and 24 nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene, fathers, Orville and Boyd, foster mother, Vickie Cann; brother, Boyd Jr. Johnson; sister, Larissa Baldwin, and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Graybill.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2023, 10:00 a.m. at the 920 Building, Quinter, Kansas with burial following in the Big Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the 920 Building on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Philip Johnson Funeral Fund in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, 901 S. Main St., Quinter, Kansas.

Memories and words of support may be left for the family by writing in the guest book.
