Obituary

Pauline Fabrizius was born November 4, 1905, in rural Russell County, KS, to the late John Fred and Maria Magdelena (Mai) Deines. She passed away Monday, April 12, 2010, in the Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital Long Term Care in WaKeeney at the age of 104.


As a small child, Pauline attended the Bender Hill Rural School in Russell County.


On August 21, 1927, she was united in marriage to Solomon Fabrizius in the Zion Lutheran Church at Trego Center. Solomon passed away April 9, 1988.


Pauline was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.


She loved natural beauty and created beautiful gardens and carefully tended to her yard. Pauline was a creative cook, enjoyed scrap booking and embroidering, especially tatting. She built the family's strong foundation, keeping the family intact with her well-known habit of letter writing. Her greatest happiness was the times she spent with her grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Leon and wife, Ginger, of Ogallah, Melvin and wife, Marian, of WaKeeney; a daughter, Florence Flinn and husband, Wesley, of Manhattan; six grandchildren, Kevin Fabrizius and friend, Donna Brown, of Kerrville, TX, Mark Fabrizius and wife, Kathleen, of Ogallah, Dan Fabrizius of Brentville, TN, Kelli Morrill and husband, James, of Lee's Summitt, MO, Chad Fabrizius and wife, Jessica, of Hays, Brad Fabrizius and wife, Brooke, of Manhattan; and nine great-grandchildren, Erik Fabrizius of Portland, OR, Savannah and Sierra Fabrizius of Ogallah, Jackson and Easton Morrill, of Lee's Summit, MO, Nelson and Drew Fabrizius of Brentville, TN, and Chason and Jersee Fabrizius of Hays.


Those preceding her in death were her husband, Solomon; a son, LeRoy Fabrizius; two grandchildren, Scott and Paula Fabrizius; a brother, Bernhardt Deines; and four sisters, Elizabeth, Miriam, and Ruphina Deines and Sarah Deines Michaelis.

Visitation will be 6-8 PM Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Schmitt Funeral Home in WaKeeney.

Services will be 10:30 AM Thursday, also at Schmitt Funeral Home. Interment is in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery at Trego Center, KS.
