Patty Jo "Pat" Knoll, age 61, of WaKeeney (formerly of St. Peter), died Monday, May 27, 2013, at her home.
Patty was born September 10, 1951, in Great Bend, the daughter of James Donald "Don" and Mildred Josephine (Guion) Rine. She was a 1970 graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School in Buckhannon, West Virginia. On June 14, 1975, Patty was united in marriage to Kenneth "Kenny" Knoll in Hill City. He preceded her in death on November 2, 2012. She was very proud to have been a farmwife, sharing in farming and operating a dairy with her husband. Patty also worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Although she kept to herself, Patty cherished time spent with family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, and was known for making a delicious dressing and what family called "a mean pecan pie". She was also a loving caregiver to her mother-in-law and father-in-law for several years. Among many other things, Patty enjoyed sewing, crafting angels from plastic canvas, and gardening.
Patty will be dearly missed by two brothers-in-law Jim Knoll of Abilene and Denis (Mia) Knoll of Hays; one sister Donna; one sister-in-law Diana Schuster of Grainfield; nieces and nephews Jessica Knoll (Patty Brand) of Great Bend, Shawn (Aimee) Schuster and daughter Lyla of Hoxie, Travis Knoll of Lafayette, Louisiana, Cassandra (Daren) Storer and daughter Davanee of Salina, Ryan Knoll of St. Louis, Missouri, Shayne Schuster of Manhattan, Kansas, and Austin Knoll of Hays; and her loyal dog "Feller". She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her mother and father-in-law Ambrose and Agatha (Unrein) Knoll .
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Schmitt Funeral Home in WaKeeney with Pastor Gary Simon as officiant. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery, St. Peter.
Visitation will be Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
