Obituary

Dr. Patsy Bolen, passed away February 12, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born June 2nd, 1939, Patsy's life has been an inspiration to all who knew her as family, friend or professional colleague. A woman before her time, Patsy had an amazing ability to create systems approaches for business processes and organizational improvements. Patsy's experience ranged from consulting with the Department of the Interior, AMEX Travel Group, and HIPAA. Patsy designed and created the Info Share Network, a web-based system that enabled people to efficiently obtain information to resolve business questions and issues. As an entrepreneur, Patsy secured Government contracts to develop aircraft maintenance diagnostic and training programs. Her company was awarded the coveted "Sole Source Provider" distinction from the U.S. Navy. As an educator, Patsy conducted workshops and lead process analysis efforts for the Colorado State Board of Education and the St. Phillips School serving Dallas inner city students. Patsy served as a representative on many Electronic Data Systems (EDS) enterprise-wide initiatives. Always willing to advise others, Patsy served as a mentor to countless administrators in the Dallas Independent School District and executives at Electronic Data Systems Corporate Office in Dallas.

Always proud of her deep Kansas roots and exceptional "Ganson" genes, Patsy joins her mother, Alice Ganson Bolen; brother Darrell and sister Victoria who preceded her in death.

She is survived by nephew Dale Bolen; niece Maureen Parks; grand nephew, Brendon Parks; sister-in-law, Mary Sue and Hans Dubach; uncle, Arthur Ganson; aunts, Hazel Hester, Edith Barrett, Ella Friedell, Alma Hershinger; and a host of cousins and friends. Her faithful companion and beloved Maltase, Tiffany, was a source of much love, entertainment and many smiles for Patsy. Especially recognized by her contagious laugh, Patsy leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of her family and friends. We are all grateful she is now free of the disease that ravaged her body but never broke her indelible spirit.

Special thanks and heartfelt gratitude are extended to Kristie McIntyre, M.D., Amy Jordan, and the staff at Texas Oncology-Presbyterian Dallas- for the loving management of her care. We will always be grateful for the staff at Jackson 2E of Texas Health Resources Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas as they cared for her through her final days.

Graveside services for Patsy will be 11:00 AM Saturday, May 14, 2011 in Baker Township Cemetery at Quinter, KS.

Memorials are suggested to SPCA of Texas and can be sent to 2400 Lone Star Drive, Dallas, TX, 75212.
