Obituary
Patricia Ann Knapp was born November 11, 1943, in Ransom, KS, to the late Clifford and Carrie (Long) Whisler. She passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2012, in Hays Medical Center at the age of 68.
She graduated from Trego Community High School with the class of 1961, and in 1965, received her Bachelor of Science Nursing Degree from Fort Hays State University. She worked as a RN in St. Francis Hospital in Topeka for many years.
On January 6, 1968, Patti was united in marriage to James Knapp in the Presbyterian Church at WaKeeney.
Patti was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Church Women's Club, and the Literary Club, all in WaKeeney. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, geneology, bird watching, crafts, and reading.
Those left to mourn her passing are her husband, Jim, of WaKeeney; two daughters, Jamie Slawson and husband, Brian, Heidi McDaniel and husband, Jeff, all of Topeka; a sister, Joyce Ross and husband, Bill, of Lincoln, NE; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A brother, John Yost; and a sister Elizabeth 'Betty' Manz, preceded her in death.
Visitation for Patti will be 9:30 until time of Service at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, June 30, 2012 in Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney, KS.
Memorials are suggested to the Presbyterian Church and can be sent in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, 336 N 12th, WaKeeney, KS 67672.
