Obituary

Olive H. Bergling, 91, of Quinter (formerly of Atwood) passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Gove County Medical Center Long Term Care in Quinter. On January 15, 1922 she was born to Millard and Margaret (Baird) Hurst on a farm north of Brewster.

Olive attended Rawlins County High School in Atwood and graduated in 1940.

On October 26, 1941, Olive was united in marriage to Quentin Bergling in Oberlin. To this union a daughter Jeri Ann and two sons David and Richard were born.

Olive loved to sing. She sang in the church choir for many years. She also belonged to the Union Club and the Merry Twelve.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Jerry Hurst, sister Lola Stoffer, and grandson Casey McPheeters.

Olive is survived by her daughter Jeri Ann and husband Mac McPheeters of Colby; two sons David Bergling and wife Sherry of Oberlin and Richard Bergling and wife Susan of Quinter; one sister Mary Alice and husband Jack Faber of Brewster; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Her ready smile and bright sense of humor were a delight to all who knew her.

A memorial service will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 26, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Atwood.
