Morris Eugene Jamison was born August 1, 1925, in Quinter, KS to the late Everett and Ethel (Roesch) Jamison. He passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2010 in the Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital at WaKeeney at the age of 84.
As a child, he attended schools in WaKeeney and graduated from Trego Community High School with the class of 1943. He later attended Kansas Wesleyan in Salina.
On January 20, 1946, Morris was united in marriage to Gladys Buchholz in Quinter. They resided in WaKeeney where Morris worked as a mechanic with his father for many years. He worked for M & B Chevrolet, Fox Chevrolet and owned and operated his own shop known as Jamison Auto Service until his retirement in 1989.
Morris was a member of the Presbyterian Church, a volunteer fireman for over twenty-five years, a charter member of the Cedar Bluffers Camping Club, and he belonged to the Civil Air Patrol.
In his younger years, Morris drove B midget race cars. Other hobbies included reading, camping, and spending time with family and friends.
Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Gladys; a son, Ross Jamison and wife, Nancy, all of WaKeeney; a daughter, Connie White and husband, Gary, of Sharon Springs; seven grandchildren Jenni Roeder and husband, Rick, of Lee's Summit, MO, Allan White of Peculiar, MO, Dustin Jamison and wife, Ren?, of Mission, KS, Jarod Jamison and wife, Kami, Preston Jamison and wife, Valerie, all of Kansas City, KS, Scott Keith and wife, Kerrie, Tammi Wynn and husband, Daniel, all of WaKeeney; six great-grandchildren, Blake Roeder, Juliana and Vincent Jamison, Ella Jamison, Adrian and Ashton Wynn; and a sister Lois Whisler of Satanta, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services for Morris will be Monday, July 12, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney, KS with visitation 9:00 AM until time of service.
