WaKeeney resident, Mary K. Owens, age 71, passed away Monday, January 28, 2013 at Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital, WaKeeney. Mary was born November 22, 1941, in Hoxie, Kansas, the daughter of William and Louise (Gaede) Rall. She was a Hoxie High School graduate. She married LaVerne Owens, and they later divorced. He preceded her in death.

Mary was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survivied by three sons Alan Owens, Kelly (Theresa) Owens and David Owens, all of WaKeeney; three daughters Paula (Ron) Beydler of Nebraska, Ronda (Joe) Herskowitz of WaKeeney, and Cher (Nate) Fouty of Ohio; one step-son Keith Owens; two step daughters Vonnie, Rena, and Dana Owens; twelve grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a close family friend and caretaker Chris Bliss of WaKeeney. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Private family services will be held at a later date as her body was cremated. There will be no visitation.
