Loren Dean Jamison was born January 10, 1928 in rural Gove County, KS to the late Ernest and Ruby Grace (Jarboe) Jamison. He passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012 at his home in Quinter at the age of 84.
After graduating in 1946 from Quinter High School, Loren served in the United States Army.
On May 4, 1952, he was united in marriage to Joyce Harger. He worked for Midwest Coop as the hardware manager for many years.
He was a member of the Church of Brethren and the American Legion Post #164, both in Quinter. He was also a volunteer for the Fire Department and Ambulance. For twenty years, Loren got to travel the entire United States. He loved working with photography. He enjoyed sports, especially football, and was an announcer for the local football games for twenty-six years.
Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Joyce, of Quinter; a son, Monte and wife, Pamela, of St. Joseph, MO; a daughter, Kathy Jamison of Kansas City, MO; his first granddaughter, Megan Jamison of St. Joseph, MO; and three sisters, Myrna Prewett, of Beloit; Lilly Zeman of WaKeeney, and Nellie Kepferle of Quinter.
Five brothers, Hershel, Virgil, Reuben, Edwin, and Merlin Jamison; and three sisters, Loren's twin, Loreen Williams, Wava Smith, and Eula Schreiner preceded him in death.
Visitation for Loren is 6-8 PM, Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Schmitt Funeral Home in Quinter. Funeral Services are at 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 15, 2012 in Church of the Brethren with Pastor Keith Funk officiating. Interment is in the Baker Township Cemetery.
