Wildeman
February 12, 1960 – August 9, 2020
Linda Sue Wildeman, 60, of Hays, KS, passed away on August 9, 2020, at Hays Medical Center. She was born on February 12, 1960, in Quinter, KS, to Ralph and Virginia (Katt) Wildeman. Linda graduated from Hoxie High School in 1979. After graduation, she spent the remaining years of her life at DSNWK in Hays.
Linda was an avid bowler, showing her bowling prowess by winning National Singles in Special Olympics. She loved competing as a team as well as playing in many Special Olympic Basketball Tournaments. When she wasn't competing in Special Olympics Linda stayed active by walking on the treadmill and riding the exercise bike at the Hays Recreational Center. Hard work was very important to Linda, which she displayed by working as a dishwasher at Whiskey Creek. Linda was a member of the People First-Self Advocacy Group, ARC, and Central Plains CAPA-LINK.
Survivors include her mother, Virginia; five brothers Kenny Wildeman (Rhonda) of Jennings, Alvin Wildeman (Patti) of Hoxie, Terry Wildeman (Sheila) of Lawrence, Randy Wildeman (Stephanie) of Garden City, Steve Wildeman (Kelly) of Topeka; four sisters, Shirley Medford (Bob) of Ammon, ID, Darlene Gassmann (Alan) of Gravette, AR, Norma Stewart (Randy) of Olathe, and Christy Rathgeber (Brian) of Grainfield.
She was preceded in death by her dad, Ralph Wildeman.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 13, 2020, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Grainfield. Due to the Gove County mandate of gatherings of no more than 75 people the service will be for immediate family and invite only.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Developmental Services of Northwest Kansas, Inc., DSNWK.
