Leonard G. Foos was born August 15, 1932, in LaCrosse, KS, to the late William and Alice (Muth) Foos. He passed away, Sunday, November 13, 2011 in the Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital at WaKeeney at the age of 79.
He graduated from Oakley High School with the class of 1950.
On January 30, 1977, Leonard married Barbara Connor in Denver, CO.
Leonard was a police officer and Chief of Police in Manitou Springs and later a police officer in Colorado Springs, CO. After Leonard and Barbara married, he worked as a maintenance supervisor for an apartment complex until his retirement.
Leonard was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3774 in WaKeeney. During his spare time he enjoyed gardening, yard work, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, of WaKeeney; sons, Terry Foos and wife, Tina of Cascade, CO, Mark Foos and wife, Susan, of Castle Rock, CO, Michael Foos of Manitou Springs, CO, Patrick Foos of Las Vegas, NV; stepsons, Rusty Tucker and wife, Cindy, of Windsor, CO, David Tucker of Wichita; daughters, Kathleen Foos of Phippsburg, CO, Janet Foos of Colorado Springs, CO; stepdaughters, Jerry Keffer and husband, Tom, Terri Bowman and husband, Dennis, all of Hutchinson; and thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A brother, William Foos, Jr.; a sister, Betty Tuttle; and two grandchildren, Eric Johnson and Samuel Hedemark preceded him in death.
No services are planned as per his request.
