Lawrence Allen Brungardt was born October 1, 1945, in St. Peter, KS, to the late Edward A. and Catherine 'Katie' (Wassinger) Brungardt. He passed away at his home in rural Thomas County at the age of 65. He was a retired oil field tool pusher.
As a child, he attended school in Graham County.
In earlier years, Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his big passion was bowling. He liked tinkering with things and repaired small motors and enjoyed woodworking. He treasured the times spent with his grandchildren.
He leaves behind a daughter, Kathy Bullock of WaKeeney; a son, James Brungardt and wife, Bonnie, of Victoria; four grandchildren, Whitney Bullock, Lawrence James 'Jimmy', Eric, and Cooper Brungardt; five brothers, Robert and wife, Carol, of Fargo, ND, Harold and wife, Darla, of York, NE, Eddie of Deshler, NE, Tim of Hill City, and Kenneth and wife, Kathy, of Silver, Lake; three sisters, Linda Thorne and husband, Floyd, of Thorton, Carolyn Withington and husband, Lynn, of Norton, Marilyn Craig of Salina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Marvin, Loraine, Virgil and Hubert Brungardt; and two sisters, Jane Ness and Mary Lusk.
A Memorial Service will be held 10:30 AM, Monday, August 29, 2011, in Schmitt Funeral Home at WaKeeney, KS. Inurnment will be in the Hill City Cemetery at a later date.
