Larry J. Jacobs, age 86, of Hays, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas. He was born in Quinter, Kansas, on July 17, 1935, to Joseph and Catharina Jacobs.

After graduating from Quinter High School, Larry enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he proudly served his country for three years before being honorably discharged. On April 2, 1955, Larry was united in marriage to Betty Ann Albin at St. Michael Catholic Church in Collyer, Kansas. To this union, six children were born. Larry and Betty enjoyed many years together working on the farm and caring for their family, until her passing in 2005, shortly before their 50 ^th wedding anniversary.

Larry was a member of the Marine Corps League, and greatly enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. He also liked piloting small aircrafts and was an avid reader.

Larry is survived by his son Larry Joe (Kim) Jacobs of Kiowa, Colorado; daughters Susan Jacobs of Bonner Springs, Kansas, Linda (Randy) Pfeifer of Hays, Toni Jacobs of WaKeeney, Kansas, Carey (Jay) Fose of WaKeeney, and Sandy (Scott Nikas) Jacobs of San Rafael, California; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Larry was preceded in death by both parents; wife Betty; grandson Jarman Jacobs; and siblings Sam, Mary, Bill, Irene, Tillie, and Gilbert.

A visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 AM on Friday, September 3, 2021, at Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney. Funeral service will then be held at 10:00 AM, with burial to follow at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in WaKeeney.
