Kyler Iain Petersen was born in Colby, KS, on April 15, 2008, to Michael P. and Nicole (Flax) Petersen. He passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010, in Wathena, KS at the age of 2 as the result of a vehicle accident.


As the third youngest child in the family, Kyler was always the center of attention. His greatest joys were trucking with Daddy, watching Black Dog, Cars and Blues Clues movies.

Kyler leaves behind a deeply saddened family including his parents, Michael and Nicole Petersen of Rexford; siblings, Austin Petersen, Kylin Petersen, Kaden Petersen, Colten Schurr, Tayler Petersen, and Haylee Schurr; grandparents, Kenny and Elaine Flax of Gove, Mike and Katie Petersen of Rexford; great-grandparents, August and Susan Zordel of Ransom, Joan Flax of WaKeeney; aunts and uncles, Holly (Flax) and Matthew Marcotte of Ft. Carson, CO, Lisa (Petersen)and Tony Bice of Rexford, Shawna Petersen of Colby; and cousins, Karly Miller, Brooklyn, Jadeyn, Dillion and Dalton Bice.

An infant brother Takeda William Schurr; and great-grandparents, Herman Flax, Jay and Donna Dahl, and Henry and Jean Petersen preceded him in death.

Services will be held 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 18, 2010 in Rexford Community Church. Interment is in Hawkeye Cemetery, Rexford, KS.
