Kenneth Lyman Rhoades was born August 18, 1954 in Trego County to Lyman Kenneth and Helen (Benisch) Rhoades. He passed away Tuesday morning February 16, 2010 at Trego Lemke Memorial Hospital in WaKeeney at the age of 55.
In 1972, Kenneth graduated from Trego Community High School. He went on to graduate from Fort Hays State University. After graduating he spent many years in Colorado as an accountant.
As a young man Kenneth enjoyed working on the farm for Monte and Lois Rhoades and even driving back on weekends while in College.
Kenneth enjoyed skiing, camping, fishing and ballroom dancing. He had a passion for games like Spider Solitaire and hand held games on his computer. He liked putting puzzles together and working on crossword puzzles. Kenneth loved to race his remote controlled cars.
Kenneth was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church.
Survivors include his mother, Helen Flax of WaKeeney and one sister, Kathryn Rhoades of WaKeeney.
Preceding him in death was his father, Lyman; sister, Mary Rhoades and step-father, Bill Flax.
Services for Kenneth are Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 10:00 am. at Christ The King Catholic Church with Father Donald F. Pfannensitel officiating. Burial will follow in the WaKeeney City Cemetery.
