Kenneth was born in Hays on November 13, 1950, the son of Ambrose and Agatha (Unrein) Knoll. He attended St. Peter Catholic School and went on to graduate from high school in Morland. He also attended Fort Hays State University. On June 14, 1974, Kenneth was united in marriage to Pat Rine. Kenneth enjoyed farming and raising cattle. He also operated a dairy. He had many hobbies to keep him busy; he enjoyed doing sandblast limestone work, welding, and woodworking. He always enjoyed a good western show on the television. He was also known for serving up some great food that came from his Traeger grill. If you saw Kenneth, his dogs weren't far away, as he loved having them around. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Kenneth will be dearly missed by his wife of 38 years, who survives of the home; two brothers Denis (Mia) Knoll of Hays and Jim (Bonnie) Knoll of Morland; one sister Diana Schuster of Grainfield; nieces and nephews Jessica Knoll (Patty Brand) of Great Bend, Shawn (Aimee) Schuster and daughter Lyla of Hoxie, Travis Knoll of Lafayette, Louisiana, Cassandra (Daren) Storer and daughter Davanee of Salina, Ryan Knoll of St. Louis, Missouri, Shayne Schuster of Manhattan, Kansas, and Austin Knoll of Hays. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister Carolann Knoll.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Schmitt Funeral Home in WaKeeney with Pastor Gary Simon as officiant. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery, St. Peter.
Visitation will be Tuesday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
