COLLYER- Kenneth "Kenny" Benning, age 76, of Collyer, died Monday, October 1, 2012 at Hays Medical Center, Hays. Kenny was born September 12, 1936, the son of Charles William and Frieda (Suhren) Benning in Denver, Colorado. On January 31, 1959, Kenny was united in marriage to Patricia Smith. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage together.

Kenny served our country in the United States Navy, and went on to work as a furniture finisher up until his retirement at the age of 62. Kenny leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Patricia; a son Shane Benning of Waterloo, Wisconsin; three daughters Tracy Reeder of WaKeeney, Kansas, Debbie Kinderknecht of Collyer, Kansas, and Barbara Duus of Aurora, Colorado; a brother Charles Wesley of Denver, Colorado; a sister Darla Benning of Denver; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother William "Bud", a sister Dolores, and a grandson.

To honor Kenny's wishes, his body was cremated and there will be no visitation or formal services held.
