WaKeeney resident, Kathleen Ann McManus, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital, WaKeeney. She was 63 years of age. Kathleen was born June 24, 1951, in WaKeeney, to Joel Houston and Rosalie Ann (Glenn) Jamison.
Kathleen was a homemaker who cherished her children and her family. She was known for her talent in the kitchen as a great cook and her green thumb in the garden, having grown a variety of vegetables and beautiful flowers. Her favorite flower was the morning glory. She also loved to collect frogs and anything with a peace sign. Kathleen loved 60's era music and had recently grown to enjoy country music. Her free spirit and kind heart will forever be missed by many.
Survivors include four children, Michael Meis of WaKeeney, Mark Meis of Medford, Oregon, Sarah (John) Kottal of Denver, Colorado, and Joshua Grim of Collyer; three grandchildren, Jaxx and Skarlett Kottal, and Kayla Brown; four great-grandchildren, Reagan, Addison, Gracy, and Larkin Carter; a brother, Joel Houston Jamison, Jr. (Sheryl) of Clay Center; and a sister, Lori Lynn (Robert) Dinkel of Collyer. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney. Inurnment will be in the Union Cemetery, Collyer. There will be no visitation as cremation was chosen.
