Joyce Darlene (Harger) Jamison was born July 10, 1929 in Hays, KS to the late Orval and Florence (Mlinek) Harger of Big Creek, KS. She passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Garden Terrace in Overland Park, KS, at age 85.

She graduated from Wakeeney, KS, Trego Community High School in 1947. Joyce received her LPN degree in 1951. Working at both the Quinter Hospital and Dr's Office. Joyce met and married Loren Jamison on May 4, 1952. in Quinter, KS. They were married in Loren's home where they resided for 58 years. Then moving to the Independent Living Apartments, in Quinter, until Loren's passing in 2012. Joyce was an active member of her church and community, but always behind the scenes, supporting and loving. Favorite past times were traveling the world and growing roses. At one time having 16 hybrid tea roses in her garden!

Survivors include a son, Monte and wife, Pamela, of St. Joseph, MO; a daughter, Kathy Jamison of Kansas City, MO; a granddaughter, Megan and husband, Clayton Spears of Kansas City, MO; and a brother, Bobby Harger, of Rogers, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.

One brother preceded her in death; Floyd Harger.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Church of the Brethren in Quinter. Burial will be in the Baker Township Cemetery, Quinter.

Visitation will be Tuesday, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
