Josephine 'Josie' Keller was born September 15th, 1917, in Schoenchen, KS, to the late George and Rosa (Depperschmidt) Zimmerman. She passed away Thursday, December 9th, 2010. at the Gove County Medical Center Long Term Care in Quinter at the age of 93.
On October 10th, 1938, Josie was united in marriage to Jacob 'Jake' Keller in Park. She was a homemaker and partner with Jake and together owned and operated the Keller Motor and Implement Dealership in Grainfield until they sold the business in 1999.
She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, and the American Legion George M. Scott Post #301 Auxiliary in Grainfield.
Josie's passions were painting, drawing, and writing in her journals. She treasured the times spent with family, especially grandchildren.
Those left to mourn her passing are husband, Jake; sons, Jerry Keller and wife, Kristy, of Romona, CA, Bob Keller and wife, Susan, of Quinter, Ken Keller and wife, Cindy, of Quinter; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Tom Zimmerman and wife, Shirley, of San Diego, CA, Eugene Zimmerman and special friend, Carolyn, of Denver, CO; three sisters, Irene Dougherty of Great Bend, Angelina Miller of Denver, CO, Georgia Zimmerman, of Quinter; and sisters-in-law, Joyce Zimmerman of Hoisington, Ilene Zimmerman of Oakley; nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
Her parents; two brothers, David Zimmerman and Elmer Zimmerman and three infant brothers preceded her in death.
Visitation for Josephine will be 5:30 - 7:00 PM Tuesday, December 15, 2010 at Schmitt Funeral Home, Quinter, KS with Vigil Service at 7:00 PM.
Services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 16, 2010 in St. Agnes Catholic Church at Grainfield, KS.
