Obituary

John Everet Repshire, age 72, of Park, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Gove County Medical Center – Long Term Care, Quinter. He was born December 27, 1942 in rural Hill City to Ray Everet and Juanita Mae (Thomas) Repshire.

John was a 1960 graduate of Russell Springs High School. He went on to serve our country in the United States Navy, until his retirement. He was proud to have served for 27 years, working as a Senior Chief and as a Programmer. John also served during the Vietnam War.

On June 5, 1966, John was married to Roxana Wolfe in Russell Springs. To this union, two children were born, Chad and Charmion. On May 31, 1991 "Friday Night of the Trail Ride", John was united in marriage to Barbara "Kay" Rogers in Russell Springs. She survives of the home. John was a life member of the Oakley VFW, was a Volunteer Fireman, and was a member of the Swift Boats Sailors Association. He loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycles. He rode with many friends and on bike runs in support of many charities, like Toys for Tots. John was known for being a rodeo clown, enjoyed trail riding on draft horses, and camping. He was always there to support his grandchildren's events and activities, and enjoyed any time spent with friends and family.

Survivors include his wife, Kay; a son, Chad Repshire of Oakley; a daughter, Charmion and husband Steve Arthur of Victoria; four grandchildren, Cole Arthur, Erin Arthur and wife Sylvia, Nikki Repshire and Toby Repshire; one great-grandson, Rylan Arthur; a brother, Glenn Repshire and wife Leona of Oakley; a sister, Raelene and husband Gary Eaton of Oakley; a stepson, Kevin Nagel and wife Angie of Lamar, Colorado; a stepdaughter, Dena and husband Dale Goetz of Park; sixteen step grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant sister, Wanda.

Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 28, 2015 at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Russell Springs with the Reverend Don Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Russell Springs Cemetery with military honors provided by the Oakley VFW and United States Navy.

Visitation will be Friday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Quinter.
