Jeanette Richmeier Wideman, age 50, of Lakin (formerly of WaKeeney), passed away on October 28, 2012 at Via Christi – St. Francis Hospital, Wichita.

Jeanette was born on January 18, 1962, the daughter of Edwin Joseph and Agnes Armilda (Flax) Richmeier, in Hays, Kansas. She attended grade school in Ellis and then went on to graduate from Morland High School in 1980. Jeanette earned her associate's degree in business and accounting from Fort Hays State University. She worked as a tax preparer at H&R Block, as well as a homemaker and loving mother. She loved to play bingo, and enjoyed traveling and dancing. She cherished time spent with family and friends; she especially enjoyed time with her nieces and nephews. She was also known as the "chauffeur" for many people, as she enjoyed driving them to appointments and running errands.

Jeanette will be dearly missed by her parents; her son Timmy (Laci) Wideman of Lakin; two brothers Kenny (Vera) Richmeier, and Jim (Anna) Richmeier, both of WaKeeney; three sisters Judi (Chuck) Feldt of Hoxie, Shirley (Randy) Eichman of Fort Myers, Florida, and Cathy (Mark) Conrady of Lakin; one granddaughter Tynslee; eight nephews and two nieces.

A mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 2, 2012 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Peter, Kansas. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the Schmitt Funeral Home of WaKeeney. A parish vigil service will be held following visitation at 6:00 p.m., also at the funeral home.
