Jean (Corwin) Hutchison was born January 4, 1924, in Corning, KS, to the late Harvey Eugene and Mary Francina (Stephens) Corwin. She passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012, at the Heritage Club in Greenwood Village, CO, at the age of 88.


As a child, she attended schools in WaKeeney and graduated from Trego Community High School and attended the University of Kansas for one year.


On July 29, 1947, Jean was united in marriage to David Niesley Hutchison in San Francisco, CA.


She was a member of Margaret Chapter 249 Eastern Star, Chapter BF PEO, First Presbyterian Church in WaKeeney, KS, and Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church, Englewood, CO. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting, sewing, quilting, cooking/baking, hosting many family get-togethers, and was a dedicated member of PEO.


Those left to mourn her passing are her husband, David, Greenwood Village, CO; sons, Scott Hutchison and wife, Merci, Colorado Springs, CO; Steven Hutchison and wife, Toni, Cottage Grove, OR; and daughters, Sara McPhee, Castle Rock, CO; and Mary Ann Haug and husband, Dan, Aurora, CO; plus nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends.

Her parents; a brother, Merlin Corwin; an infant sister, Wilma Bea Corwin; and a son-in-law, Mike McPhee, preceded her in death.

A memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 25, 2012 in the Presbyterian Church at WaKeeney, KS.
