Janet Marie (Weber) Ziegler, age 60, died on April 25, 2023, at Hays Medical Center. She was born January 6, 1963, at Hays, daughter of Joseph and Evelyn (Wittman) Weber.

Janet met Ron Ziegler on a blind date in Colby, KS. They both worked at the nursing home there. On July 1, 1993, they married in Ellis, KS – moved to WaKeeney in 1995. Janet was a very sweet wife & friend to all who knew her. She worked at many places; from Ellis nursing home, to her last job at Western Kansas World in WaKeeney.

Janet & Ron were married 30 years. Since they were never blessed with children, they filled their home with fur babies – Odie, Murry, & Louie.

Janet is survived by her husband Ron of WaKeeney, brothers Bob (Shirley) of Colby & Harry (Rita) of Hays, father-in-law Louie, sister-in-law Terri, and brother-in-law Don, all of Collyer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Jerry, one sister Norma Jean, and mother-in-law Margaret.

A graveside memorial service will be held on May 3, 2023, 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery, Ellis with Curtis Flax presiding. A visitation will be held at Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
