J. Michael Frost, age 69, of WaKeeney, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Hays Medical Center. He was born December 2, 1944, in Kirksville, Missouri, to James Albert and Edna Ellen (Rollstin) Frost.

On August 28, 2000, Mike was united in marriage to Lisa Lattin Freeborn, in Hays. He was very active in healthcare, having been a healthcare administrator for many years. He was active in many organizations throughout his career, some of which include: Kansas Healthcare Stabilization Fund (Board of Governors), Kansas Foundation for Medical Care (past Board Member), Trego Hospital Health Foundation (Board Member), and Kansas Hospital Association (member). Mike was also a past elder with the WaKeeney Presbyterian Church. He was an avid softball player and bicyclist. He was a loyal KU Basketball, Royals and Cardinals Baseball, and Chiefs Football fan. He was his daughter's biggest fan, having always been there to support and cheer her on in sports, music, and dance. He also enjoyed coaching her softball team. His kind and loving spirit will be missed by many.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa; two sons Matthew John Freeborn of Lawrence, and Timothy Allen Frost of Lynchburg; a daughter Elizabeth Hope Frost of the family home in WaKeeney; two grandchildren Shelby and Annie Frost; a sister Beverly Westvold of Prairie Village; and a brother-in-law Jon and wife Sue Lattin. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his father-in-law Royal Lattin.

Services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at WaKeeney Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the WaKeeney City Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to service time at the church.
