Helen Robben was born May 19, 1918 in Grainfield, KS, to the late Adam and Katharina (Zimmerman) Hartman. She passed away Friday, February 5, 2010, in St. Johns Health Care Center at Hays, KS at the age of 91.
As a child, she attended schools in Grainfield.
On August 27, 1945, Helen was united in marriage to Richard Henry Robben in Grainfield.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar Society in Park.
Helen cooked at th Park Grade Schools for twelve years and worked as a CNA for eighteen years at the Gove County Long Term Care in Quinter. She was an avid baker and enjoyed having family dinners. Helen loved visiting. Her creative skills were evident in her quilting, painting, sewing, and knitting.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Robben and wife, Jody, McPherson; a daughter, Sherilyn Gross and husband, Lester, Hays; four grandchildren, Patrick Robben and wife Marya; Paul Robben and wife, Mia, Joel Robben, and Brendon Gross; two great-grandchildren, Patricia and Thomas Robben; a brother, Frank Hartman, Salina; and a sister Amelia Kaiser, Grainfield.
Services for Helen will be Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery at Park, KS.
Visitation will be Monday February 8, 2010 from 5-7 PM with Vigil at 7:00 PM at Schmitt Funeral Home in Quinter, KS.
