Obituary

Harold Francis Werth was born April 7, 1931, in Antonino, Kansas, to the late Felix and Anna (Klaus) Werth. He passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Gove County Medical Center in Quinter at the age of 81.

On October 10, 1949, he was united in marriage to Betty Jean Jacobs in Antonino, Kansas. Together they farmed in Sheridan County for over sixty years.

Harold's life, love, hobby and passion was farming. Harold was seldom found without his cowboy hat and boots on.

Those left to mourn his passing are two sons; Neil (Cecelia) Werth of Hays, Kansas, and Harold Jr (Lois) Werth of Quinter, Kansas; a daughter, Michelle (Lonnie) Houser of Quinter, Kansas; a daughter-in-law, Charlene Werth of Park, Kansas; twelve grandchildren, Rachelle (Butch) Patterson, Laurie (Mike) Wilson, Amy (Justin) Polifka, Jessie (Johnny) Ingram, Abby Werth, Jason Werth, Clinton (Glenda) Werth, Derek Werth, Shane Werth, Aaron (Shannon) Werth, Audrey (John) Nordman, and Chris Werth; thirteen great-grandchildren, Whitney, Christina, and Kyle Patterson, Braden and Camden Polifka, Matt Vancampen, Logan, Millie and Meagan Ingram, Vivian and Adrian Nordman, Andrew and Elaina Werth; one great-great-grandchild Cevin; one brother, Harvey Werth of Hays, Kansas, and one sister, Dolores Haselhorst of Antonino, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty; a son, Leon Werth; a brother, Charles Lee Werth; a daughter-in-law, Millie Werth; and a great-grandson, Hudson Polifka.

Mass of a Christian burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Park, KS.

Vigil service will be on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at Schmitt Funeral Home in Quinter, KS with a visitation starting at 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
