Lifelong Park resident, Greg Selensky, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Gove County Medical Center. He was 45 years of age. He was born June 6, 1968, in Hoxie, the son of Ronald Francis and Iona Phyllis (Goetz) Selensky. Parents continue to reside in Quinter.
Greg was a 1986 graduate of Wheatland High School. On October 20, 2007, he was united in marriage to Cassandra "Cassie" Zelfer in Park. Greg was a custom forage harvester and rancher. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Park. He and his wife enjoyed donating time in support of the Gove County Rodeo Club. He was an avid fisherman and hunter; coyote hunting was his favorite. Greg loved playing golf with family and friends, cooking (especially grilling), and doing about anything outdoors. He loved his wife, "Jo", dearly, and made his family a top priority in life. He cherished the time spent playing with Carter and Breckyn and nieces and nephews. Greg was a very good handyman, and he was known for being a "natural" at about anything.
Greg will be dearly missed by many friends and family. Survivors include his wife Cassie and children Carter and Breckyn of the home; his parents, Ronald and Iona; siblings Curtis and wife Teresa of Grainfield, Lynn and husband Chris Schrader of Benkelman, Nebraska, Julie and husband Tim Hall of Dodge City, and Kelly and wife Jynette of Park; father and mother-in-law Tom and Deloris Zelfer of Grainfield; sister-in-law Amber and husband Brice Barton of Colby; and sixteen nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Adam and Clara Selensky and Mike and Katie Goetz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Park. Con-celebrants will be Father Kevin Weber and Father James Thomas. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation and viewing will be Thursday from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. with a Parish Vigil service following at 7:30, all at the funeral home.
