Garry Lee Sams, 73 of Park KS, passed away August 2, 2019, at Gove County Medical Center, Quinter, KS.

Garry L. Sams, born September 15, 1945 to Thomas Arnold and Mabel (Skogg) Sams at Mercy Hospital in Denver, Colorado. His young years were spent in the Denver schools and he graduated from North High School in 1961. He married Gail Marie Adams October 10, 1964 with whom he enjoyed 55 years of marriage. He was employed by CDOT from 1965 to 1980 where he helped build I-70 through Denver and at times also worked as a mechanic. At retirement in June 1996 his office was at the Eisenhower tunnel on I-70. In 1980 the family moved from Denver to Idaho Springs, and in 1999 they moved to a farm south of Park, Kansas where his main interest was keeping it all running.

He is preceded in death by both parents, a daughter, a son, and a granddaughter. He is survived by his wife Gail of Park; three daughters; Cynthia Faith Wardeu of Kremmling, CO Charity Ann Frazer of Columbia, MO and Debra Lynn Sams of Ft. Lupton, CO. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and one great-grandchild, with two more to be born in 2019.

His Christian faith was at the top of his priority list and since 1978 he has supported the Faith Cometh By Hearing ministry, who record the Bible in many languages and distributes it on tape, CD, and MP3 to all freely. Other hobbies included alternative energy and being an amateur radio operator KBOUQX.
