Obituary

Evelyn Lee Graham was born May 20, 1932, in Quinter, KS, to the late George Carlton and Audrey Marie (Glick) McWilliams. She passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2011, in the Hays Medical Center at the age of 79.

She graduated from Quinter High School with the class of 1950.

On April 26, 1952, Evelyn was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Jimmie Graham in her parents' home north of Quinter. She was looking forward to celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. Together they owned and operated Graham's 66 Station, Q Motel and the Q-Inn Restaurant until 2005. Evelyn and Jimmie were fortunate enough to have the means and opportunity to travel extensively throughout their years together.

Evelyn was a member of the United Methodist Church, the UMW Group, and the Valhalla Club, all of Quinter. Evelyn's number one passion was her family. Her face would light up whenever they were around. Her main hobby was researching genealogy. Also, during her spare time, she enjoyed watching professional sports. She especially favored the Chicago Bulls with Michael Jordan. Her love of sports carried over to her many years in a bowling league sponsored by the Q-Inn. She was a faithful fan and attended her grandchildren's sports events whenever possible. Evelyn was an avid reader, and loved playing games.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmie, of Quinter; four daughters, Cynthia Porter of Manhattan, Diana Anderson of Spring Hill, Noralee Gillespie of Quinter, and Joyce Schneider and husband, Bill, of Collyer; eight grandchildren, Courtney Albin and husband, Nathan, Jimmy Griffin and wife, Jackie, Jasmyn Ostmeyer and husband, Heath, Cameron Anderson, Jocelyn Anderson, Jordan Schneider, Corryn Anderson, Jessica Schneider; four great-grandchildren, Taylor Siburt, Makyla Griffin, Maia Albin, and Graham Ostmeyer; a sister, Carlene Graham and husband, Chester, of Quinter; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
