Obituary

Eunice Lucille Scott was born July 14, 1910, to Ozra and Anna (Tilton) Berry in Pottawatomie County, KS. She passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011, at Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital at the age of 101.

Eunice was the youngest of six children. She attended rural Trego County Schools and on February 7, 1930 she married Harold Scott. They were blessed with one son, Dwayne.

Eunice and Harold lived on their farm north of Ogallah for many years. She had many fond memories of the their life on the farm which she reminisced about frequently. She enjoyed her garden, chickens and having a house full of company to cook for. She enjoyed cooking for the harvest crews, having her ladies' club and card parties.

After moving to town, Eunice cooked for the Kent Cafe and the Susie Cafe. Many people remember the "The Little Red School House" that she ran and her sister Grace cooked in. Eunice cooked her last Christmas meal when she was 95.

In her retirement years Eunice was a very proud Senior Companion. Eunice herself had a senior companion these last few years whom she really enjoyed.

Survivors include, daughter-in-law, Vi Scott of Tucson, AZ; one grandson, Mike Scott and wife, Judy, of Tucson, AZ; her nieces, Sharon Patterson and husband, Ted, of Quinter, Linda Siek of Ransom, Carole Zerr and husband, Gary, of Herrington, and Betty Scott and husband of Texas; senior companion, Boots; and her boys, as she called them, Francis and Kenneth Offner; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; son, Dwayne; two brothers, Clyde and Laurence Berry; three sisters, Hazel Spitsnaugle, Grace McAtee and Agnes Berry.
