Eunice Joyce McNeal was born January 5, 1927, in Osborne County, KS, to the late John and Opha (Clouse) Snyder. She passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012, in the Salina Regional Health Center at the age of 85.
She graduated from Alton High School.
On April 13, 1946, Eunice was united in marriage to George Franklin 'Frank' McNeal in Osborne, KS. They lived in Quinter until moving to WaKeeney in November of 1955. Eunice worked as an office manager for Kansas Power and Light Company until she retired in 1985. Frank passed away October 9, 2007.
Eunice was a member of the Randall Reid VFW Auxiliary, the American Legion Moore Post Auxiliary, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie Auxiliary, and the Cedar Bluff Campers, all in WaKeeney. She was very active in her children's sports and activities and served as a Girl Scout leader. Eunice and Frank loved fishing and camping with family and friends. They traveled many states pulling their camper and even became winter Texans.
Those left to mourn her passing are her children, Lyle and Mary, of Kansas City, MO and Joyce of Salina; two grandchildren, Stacy Myers, Lyle McNeal, Jr. and wife, Linda; two step-grandchildren, Mindy Wright and husband, Adam, Matthew Anderson; two great-grandchildren, Austin and Alyssa McNeal; three step-great-grandchildren, Charlie, Brennan and Jordan; a brother, Warren Snyder; and two sisters, Irene Welker of Salina, and Lucille Carter and husband, Billy, of Wichita.
Those preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Frank; a daughter-in-law, Brenda McNeal; an infant sister, Janet Marie Snyder; and two brothers, Devere and Duane Snyder.
Visitation is 9:00 to 10:00 AM, Monday, April 2, 2012 in Schmitt Funeral Home at WaKeeney, KS with service to follow at 10:30 AM.
