Obituary

On Tuesday, August 17, 2010, our lives were shattered and the world lost a beautiful and precious child.

Ethan Samuel Flora was born in Hays, KS on January 13, 2007, the second baby of a set of twins. He was welcomed into the loving arms of Sam and Glenda (Adee) Flora of rural Quinter, KS.

Even in his infancy, Ethan filled our lives with laughter and excitement. Always the center of attention, Ethan's antics and contagious little grin brightened every room and created lasting impressions on all those around him. Ethan spent the majority of his short days on this earth doing what he loved best, being outdoors. An amazing and active little farm boy, Ethan never met a cow, horse, tractor, combine, dump truck, or pile of dirt that he didn't like. Ethan was dedicated into and was an integral part of the Quinter United Methodist Church. Not a Sunday passed that Ethan didn't prop a hymnal on his little lap and "sing" at the top of his lungs with the congregation, whether they were singing or not. Ethan's magnetic personality and overwhelming zest let him touch more lives in his three short years than most of us will be blessed within a lifetime.

Ethan leaves behind a deeply saddened family including his parents, Sam and Glenda, his twin sister, Abigail (Abbie), and brothers, Kadyn and Colton, all of the home, brothers, Tyler Flora of Houston, TX and Ryan Flora of Quinter, and a sister, Betsy (Flora) Ayers and husband, Mat, of Nampa, ID. Ethan is the grandson of Merlyn Adee, Miltonvale, KS and Judy Adee, Talmage, KS. He is also survived by a multitude of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Joyfully receiving him into their loving embrace in our Heavenly home are grandparents, Sam and Bernadine Flora, Uncle Kenneth Flora, and Aunt Delana Adee.

Visitation for Ethan will be 6-8 PM Friday, August 20, 2010 in Schmitt Funeral Home at Quinter, KS. Services will be 10:30 AM on Sataurday, in the United Methodist Church, also in Quinter.

Memorials are suggested to the Ethan Flora Memorial Fund or the Quinter United Methodist Church and can be sent in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, 901 S Main, Quinter, KS 67752.
